There are two characteristics of the ìsecond generation car navigation systemî that you should always recognize: the driving directions must be processed on servers somewhere else and the in-car system requires wireless connection or wireless Internet connection. This may include the location based service as well. However, the GPS receiver must be installed in-car. (You might have heard of a number of removable car navigation systems. Please note that most of the systems presently available in the US market are the ìfirst generationî removable car navigation.)
